The ongoing House of Representatives investigation into the alleged fake government agency has taken another turn, following fresh concerns over an appointment letter presented before the investigative committee.
Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, reportedly questioned the authenticity of the document presented by Matthew Adeniyi, who allegedly claimed to have served as the Director-General of the organisation.
During the hearing, Gagdi reportedly noted that the evidence so far presented had not established a credible connection between the alleged agency and the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The lawmaker stressed the importance of verifying the documents and testimonies before the committee, saying the investigation was aimed at establishing the facts surrounding the organisation and its activities.
Senior government officials who appeared before the committee also reportedly raised concerns about the legality of the organisation and the circumstances surrounding its operations.
The committee is expected to continue examining the evidence before arriving at its final conclusions and recommendations.
The development has continued to attract public attention as Nigerians await the outcome of the legislative probe.
